POSITION:

The position of Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, tracking, monitoring, documenting, and management of diverse organizational projects. Projects may include computer application deployment, home construction/renovation or other initiatives intended to improve the operating quality and efficiency of Ongwanada.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Ongwanada management to identify, develop and initiate projects, develop project charters, work breakdown structures, project schedules, define project roles and responsibilities, monitor work performed and close projects.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans to be shared with project stakeholders.
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Lead project meetings, present status reports and oversee communication with project team members, the broader organization, and externally as required, ensuring risks, decisions and issues are accurately and appropriately documented.
  • Measure, track and report on project performance using appropriate tools and techniques to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
  • Report and escalate issues to management as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Post-secondary University Degree in Business, Public Administration and/or other relevant equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Project management education and designations (PMP) is considered an asset.
  • 3 years of direct experience in managing projects for government, healthcare, non-profit or for-profit environments.
  • Previous experience in project management activities with complex and large-scale projects an asset.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (i.e. PMBOK).
  • Well-developed analytical, problem-solving skills; advanced organizational, administrative, multi-tasking skills, and experience with using Microsoft Office products
  • Demonstrated leadership skills when leading a project team. 
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
