re: Adult Protective Services
Adult Protective Services (APS) is a voluntary support program offering assistance to adults with a developmental disability living within their community. An Adult Protective Services Worker (APSW) provides advocacy, networking, case planning, and supportive counselling for these adults.
Effective February 1, 2021, Ongwanada will be transitioning Adult Protective Services for Lennox and Addington to Counselling Services of Belleville and District (CSBD) by mutual agreement. Currently, CSBD provides APS in Belleville, Madoc, Quinte West, North Hastings, and Prince Edward County. CSBD now provides Behaviour Consulting Services to children and adults with developmental disabilities residing in Lennox and Addington County. As a non-residential agency, CSBD is ideal for extending its APS services to include Lennox and Addington.
The APS office will remain at its present location as CSBD will join Ongwanada in the Lenadco Building located at 310 Bridge St W, Napanee, ON K7R 0A4. Thank you for your support during this transition, and please do not hesitate to contact Lori Johnson, Ongwanada APS Supervisor, with any questions or concerns at 613-331-3807.
