POSITION:
To provide leadership, direction and management to assigned supported living services and community participation supports. Ensuring the provision of staff, equipment and supplies for the functioning of the respective areas, as well as being responsible for the quality of care provided.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensuring accurate written reports are kept of client programs (daily reports, medications), etc.;
- Reviewing medical/ behavioural issues and ensuring follow-up with Supervisors;
- Ensuring that the total program meets the needs and objectives of each individual;
- Developing /interpreting policies & program philosophy to community settings staff ensuring these are followed;
- Monitoring the budget allocations and reporting on variances;
- Promoting and maintaining harmonious relationships between staff and other departments to ensure that the needs of clients are paramount;
- Developing annual budget requirements for the assigned community settings;
- Reviewing with the Supervisor the new and replacement equipment needs;
- Ensuring the designated community settings remain within budget allocation;

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- A Degree relevant to the field of Developmental Disabilities from a college/university of a recognized standing, or a combined equivalent of education and experience;
- Excellent supervisory skills to lead and manage several residential programs are required;
- Knowledge about managerial principles/practices through educational or through experience is required;
- Must successfully complete and maintain certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention as per Ongwanada policies;
- Thorough understanding of developmental residential issues and who can express that understanding in the design and implementation of programs leading to the continuation of successful residential programs;
- Good interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills as well as good organizational and administrative skills (budgeting, negotiating, supervisory, etc.) are required.
