Dear Ongwanada families:
Late last week we were informed that one of our supported individuals tested positive for COVID-19. A second supported individual and a staff member have since tested positive. All are in isolation. All other supported individuals and staff who were exposed have been tested, and their results came back negative. The families of those affected have been informed directly. The individuals testing positive are showing only minor symptoms.
We understand this may be upsetting and concerning, and assure you that all measures are being taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19 within our community; we are working very closely with KFL&A Public Health in this regard. Public Health assures us that a positive case in any setting does not necessarily mean that others will be affected. Still, since the well-being of your loved ones and our staff is of the utmost importance, we are doing what we can to keep them safe.
Our staff has always gone, and I am sure will continue to go above and beyond to address this situation.
In the meantime, should you have any questions or concerns about the situation, please do not hesitate to contact me. We will continue to keep you updated on the situation as information becomes available.
Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation. Together we will get through this.
Yours sincerely,
Alastair Lamb
