Dear Ongwanada Families:

I wanted to take this opportunity to reflect on this past year. A lot of sacrifices have been made to keep our loved ones safe and I have no doubt that you, like me, are happy to see some of the restrictions we have been living with being relaxed. There is no doubt this past year has been challenging for everyone. I want to thank you for your patience, understanding, and assistance in ensuring everyone we support stays safe.

We are delighted to report that as of Friday, October 1, 2021, 95% of our active employees are fully vaccinated.

As required, all unvaccinated or partially vaccinated staff (single vaccine dose or second dose less than 14 days prior) must undergo COVID-19 rapid antigen testing a minimum of once every seven (7) days, as per MCCSS guidelines.
Almost all of the supported individuals living with us residentially have been vaccinated which means as restrictions lift, we can start to spend more time in the community.

In addition, over the coming weeks, we will be taking additional measures to ensure the safety of your loved ones and our staff, by distributing HEPA filters to support increased air quality and reduce the chance of potential exposure to COVID-19 to each of our homes.

This is the time of year to be thankful, and I can say that I am very thankful for all the efforts of our staff in ensuring the safety and well-being of your family members. I am also genuinely grateful for your support and understanding over this past year.
