re: COVID-19 vaccination
Dear Ongwanada family members:
I want to make you aware that we have been working very closely with Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox, and Addington (KFL&A) Public Health to advocate for your loved ones to ensure that they receive a COVID-19 vaccination as soon as possible.
We have been informed that by provincial mandate initial doses of vaccine will be administered to Long-Term Care and Retirement Home residents and staff. We are assured that individuals in congregate care settings, including developmental disabilities group homes will be in the next round of vaccine roll-out. The two approved COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines) are safe and reliable and can help protect you and your family from COVID-19. They are an essential tool to help slow or stop the virus’s spread and allow individuals, families, and workers to resume everyday life safely.
Ongwanada is working with KFL&A Public Health to finalize vaccination details. In due course we will be sending out vaccine information and the necessary vaccine consent information for those in our care who are unable to provide consent for themselves.
Thank you for your understanding, and please be assured that we will continue to keep you informed and updated as necessary. Should you have questions, I encourage you to reach out.
Sincerely,
Alastair Lamb
Chief Executive Officer
