Specialty Clinics

Seating Clinics
Seating clinics take place annually or as needed to assess and monitor the positioning and mobility needs of individuals who use a wheelchair. The seating clinic team includes a physiotherapist, occupational therapist and wheelchair technician working together with the individual and their caregivers. Custom seating is available for those who require specialized features. As Assistive Devices Program (ADP) assessor will be present to assist with government funding for the recommended equipment.

Eligibility: Ongwanada clients who currently use or may need a wheelchair.

Fees: Some government funding is available for wheelchairs and seating equipment through the ADP program. Individuals may also be required to cover some of the equipment cost. Ther are no fees charged for attending seating clinics.

Healthy Eating Clinics
These clinics provide an opportunity to educate clients and caregivers about nutritional needs and good eating habits. Challenges faced by individual clients due to their disabilities are reviewed and addressed. The team includes Ongwanada's dietitian, the client's counsellors, an occupational therapist, psychologist, and social worker.
